I have a laptop that I bought off of ebay. I did not restart it or anything, but I feel as if somebody is in control of my webcam. Every once in a while I'll just be online going and checking emails and the light to my webcam will light up! I have been researching a lot people say someone may be in control of it so I've become really scared and have put a piece of tape over it just to make sure they cannot see me if there is someone watching me. I also have heard that there might be a certain key on the keyboard that makes it do that. I am not certain if my laptop has a certain key to turn the webcam on, but information back as soon as possible will be highly appreciated. (The light turns on for maybe a second or two and then goes right off, but it does it randomly like every 5 minutes maybe. Should I be concerned or is it just a key I'm frequently pressing that is making it do this.)

My PC is having a problem with WebcamApp: whenever I use the webcam I receive a message informing me that the WebcamApp has stopped working. My PC is an HP Compaq 615 and the webcam's version is 1.1.0. What shall I do?

Try uninstalling the webcam application and driver then install it again. This should fix it. Reinstalling will fix the registry errors and any other file corruption errors.

Go to HP Drivers and Downloads web page, identify your computer model, select your operating system and download and install the webcam files below the Download index section. If the webcam is not working, go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager, double-click the Webcam device and right-click on the driver. Select Update Driver Software and use the Browse option to navigate to the installation package. Select the driver and install it following the provided instructions.
